Blackhawks Program Overview

Blackhawks is the competitive program of Scottsdale Soccer. Per gender and age group, there are up to three levels of competitive teams:  Black, Red and White; with Black being the most competitive team. Currently there are about 40 teams, a total exceeding 500 players ages 6 to 17. The league a team chooses to play in will determine where games are played. Most league games are played in the greater Phoenix area. Tournaments are chosen by each team and may require out of state travel.

All Blackhawk teams are assigned a professional trainer who, in conjunction with a team manager, guides the team through their season, which beings in late summer and ends in the spring. The team manger's responsibilities are primarily focused on administrative duties. Except in emergency circumstances, all on-field training and coaching is done by the professional trainer.

Mission Statement

Scottsdale Soccer is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop the physical, mental and emotional growth of our local youth through the sport of soccer at all levels of age and competition.  We are dedicated to teaching skills, athleticism, tactics, team work and sportsmanship by providing the best coaching, training and facilities.  Attention is on the whole athlete, with emphasis on character, commitment and self confidence.   We support the development of student athletes in our community. Your introduction can include information such as the purpose of your organization, a description of its activities, a description of its target population, and evidence to show that it is a healthy organization.

Opportunity

The inaugural year of the Blackhawks Invitational is presented with much anticipation, planning and numerous hours of volunteer support. Our goals are encompassed within the “3 C’s” approach from our Mission Statement: Character, Commitment and Self-Confidence.

• Our plan is focused on the overall character of the tournament by prioritizing the delivery of an optimal tournament experience by all participants and spectators.

• Our teams are focused on the commitment level necessary to deliver successfully on all undertakings by executing with an “above reproach” mindset.

• By setting our goals on the character and commitment entities of the tasks ahead, our unilateral support of one another enforces the self-confidence necessary for success. Our success will resonate to others to have the self confidence to think bigger
